DIALOG GAMING LEAGUE – CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE TOURNAMENT WITH IPLAY.LK | MAXIMUM E-SPORTS.

Evidently Sri Lanka has a unique and dominating community of Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare players while the game itself is known for being a pioneer in creating the so-called E-sports community in Sri Lanka and arguably is pretty much what holds the community together. We have been able to witness some of the greatest, most spectacular and emotional moments through out the decade when it comes to Call of Duty tournaments both in LANs and Online. Undoubtedly Dialog Gaming League – Call of Duty tournament 2021 has been the biggest of them all with a whopping prize pool of up to LKR 200,000 and with a ridiculous count of 88 teams and 500+ players registering for the tournament.

It was rather beautiful to see some top-notch players and teams in the country coming back just to have a go at one of the best fast action – FPS based game.

After a month of chaos and immense battle among some of the best teams in the country we witnessed what some would arguably call one of the most thrilling matches in recent times. During the Semi Finals of the tournament between Team IWNL of Maximum Esports and Team V. RULE of TECH-Morph where V. RULE was just one round away from defeating Team IWNL and proceeding to the finals, with V.RULE having 12 rounds to their name and with Team IWNL having just 4 rounds to their name at the half of map MP_CRASH we eyed one of the most spectacular comeback by Team IWNL, playing every round so perfectly and strategically to make it a tie with 12-12 at the end of the match and not allowing Team V.RULE to grab the much needed 1 round win. However, after another tie on MR_5 Team IWNL dominated the MR_3 defeating Team V. RULE and proceeded in to the finals.

On the other hand, Team INSPIRE of Maximum E-sports who also had been pretty aggressive throughout the tournament were able to secure their way in to the finals beating Team SIDDIYA of TECH-Morph.

On the 9th of May the two well deserving teams faced each other for the No.1 spot. The final between two teams from Maximum E-sports, Team IWNL and Team INSPIRE concluded with TEAM IWNL clean sweeping Team INSPIRE 3-0 on a best of five format and went on to be crowned the CHAMPIONS of the tournament defending their title as the NO.01 team in the country.

The final was broadcasted live with 100s of fans and players watching the stream on a warm Sunday evening
