Introduction

The Monolith, a South Asian MLBB tournament, is all set to take the esports scene by storm. Organized by iplay.lk in collaboration with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, this tournament aims to raise the bar for esports in the region and provide a platform for players to showcase their skills on an international scale. The Monolith promises to be an action-packed and thrilling event for both players and fans, with top teams from across South Asia competing for the grand prize. Rules

Below are the updated rules and regulations for iPlay global Mobile Legends tournaments as of 2023.01.26:

 

I. Registration and Tournament Guidelines

 

  • All iPlay Global organized or partnered tournaments will be registered through the official IPLAY.LK webpage.
  • Teams that are invited by iPlay Global will receive official emails or be contacted by one of our iPlay representatives. Valid recognition proof will be provided upon request.
  • Fair play between players and officials is ensured by iPlay Global. Any allegations of arbitrariness and favoritism by referees are appealable with supporting documentation, and the required steps will be taken to resolve unfairness that could jeopardize the integrity of competitive esports.
  • The tournament bracket and schedule will be decided by the organizer and will be announced publicly at least seven days prior to the tournament starting date.
  • The brackets will be Single elimination, Double Elimination or Group Stage. (Franchise leagues will be notified of future rule updates.) All matches will try to be played as best-of-three, but in some cases, due to time availability, best-of-one matches may be played. Once brackets are officially out, they cannot be reversed under any circumstances.
  • To be kept informed on all information pertaining to current and upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) tournaments, all team members must sign up for the special tournament Discord server.
  • Prior to the tournament, all captains alongside their main lineup and substitutes (7 player lineup) should provide login report details of each account. Please note that iPlay staff can request a resubmission of login reports at any moment throughout the tournament.
  • All 7 players are unable to modify their accounts or in-game names after registration. The Disciplinary Committee of iPlay Global has the authority to disqualify or even ban temporarily or permanently if account sharing is determined to have occurred. We will ask for both the prior and current screenshots of in-game names when it comes to in-game names. Before being disqualified, players have a grace period of 12 hours to change their in-game names back.

 

II. Rules for Teams and Players

 

  • The maximum number of players per team is 7, and each of those 7 players must be enrolled as a member of only one team. The starting lineup will consist of five players, with two additional players serving as backups.
  • Substitutions are allowed on occasions when one player has any issue that seems valid, making them unable to continue or when a team captain wants a change in the lineup.
  • When a player has previously played or registered for another team, during first blood or after 0.45 minutes of play, or when they are serving suspensions or bans, substitutions are not permitted.

 

III. General Rules

 

  • There should be five players on each squad. Even after a flexible grace period for a match, a walkover will occur if a team has less than 5 participants.
  • There should be no more than 10 minutes between games.
  • Every day of the week, including public and commercial holidays, is open for matches.
  • All communication will be done through Discord and Whatsapp groups. (Telegram channels will be used for communication if the number of players is too high.)

 

IV. Game Mechanism

 

  • The objective of the game is to destroy the Nexus or have the enemy surrender.
  • Custom lobby: 3 bans per team.
  • Tournament lobby: 5 bans per team.
  • Spectators allowed: Tournament  Referees, Casters and Streamers only.
  • Public chat allowed: for match timeout requests only.
  • Recalls and emotes are allowed as long as they are under professionalism.

 

V. Gameplay and Update

 

  • All players should update the game to the latest version.
  • All revamped and new heroes are banned for use unless at least two weeks have passed.
  • Usage of bugs and exploits to gain an unfair advantage will not be tolerated. Tournament Referees have the power to make decisions on such actions.
  • Third-party software is not allowed except for Discord and Turnip.
  • Offensive IGNs and public platform profiles will be directed to change in any category.

 

VI. Hosting and Matches

 

  • The tournament personnel will be in charge of hosting the matches.
  • 30 minutes before the game, the officials might invite you to join for ping checks.
  • When a pause is requested, it must be taken for three minutes unless there is a team fight or a key objective (If pauses are requested in such cases Screenshot of ping is compulsory).
  • When a player is being recalled, the match cannot be halted. Referees will appropriately pause the game after the player has finished recalling.

 

  • When an unintentional disconnect occurs due to a hardware or software issue or a physical circumstance, there are pauses. (all these will be looked in by tournament staff and cannot exceed a few minutes)
  • Pauses are not permitted while Turtle or Lord are clutching with less than 40% of their health.

 

VII. Match Restarts

 

  • If a player lags and is unable to choose a hero, the lagged hero should be the first pick on the second occurrence, and the opponent has the option of switching one of their preferred heroes to be the first or second pick.
  • If an emblem or spell is not visible, the bug must be reported to the referees as soon as the game begins. The maximum grace period is until the first buff spawns at 00.20 seconds. Any further appeals will be dismissed.

 

VIII. Toss and Special Instances

 

  • Before 15 minutes to their matches, the Captains must join the tournament’s Discord server.To ensure that there is openness throughout their fairplay process, the referees will explain the regulations before the toss and conduct the toss via screen sharing.

 

  • The losing team makes its own pick in the second round; for instance, if Team A wins the coin toss and takes the first pick, Team B gets to pick the side of their choice in the second half.

 

IX. Special Remarks

 

    Eligibility: 

 

  • All competitors must meet the age requirements for the competition and have active MLBB accounts.
  • All participants must be citizens of nations that qualify.

 

    Cheating: 

 

  • Cheating in any form is not tolerated. Any player caught cheating will be disqualified from the tournament. 
  • Cheating includes but is not limited to using hacks, bots, or any other third-party software.

 

    Communication: 

 

  • Players must communicate in a polite and respectful manner. The use of vulgar or offensive language is strictly prohibited.

 

    Code of Conduct:

 

  • All players are expected to follow the MLBB code of conduct during the tournament. Any player found to be in violation of the code of conduct will be disqualified from the tournament.
