iPlay Open Mayhem 2025 – DOTA 2 General Rules

1. TOURNAMENT FORMAT

• Double Elimination: The iPlay Open Mayhem 2025 Dota 2 tournament follows a Double Elimination format and is organized by iPlay.lk.
• Match Details & Schedule: Will be announced on the iPlay.lk platform.
• Match Format: All matches are Best-of-One (Bo1) until the Semifinals.
• Semifinals & Finals: These rounds will be Best-of-Three (Bo3).
• Bracket Progression: Winners remain in the upper bracket; teams dropping from the upper bracket move to the lower bracket.
• Grand Final: The winner of the upper bracket faces the winner of the lower bracket to determine the champion.

2. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

1. Each team must consist of five players and may have up to two substitutes.
2. All players must be registered on iPlay.lk before participating.
3. Account Sharing: Using another player’s account or allowing someone else to play on your account is strictly prohibited.

3. GAME SETTINGS

1. Game Mode: Captains Mode (CM)
2. Match Server: SEA Server (unless both teams agree otherwise)
3. Pause Rules: Each team is allowed 10 minutes of pause time per game for technical issues.
4. If a match ends due to a game bug or crash, it will be restarted using the same draft to maintain fairness.

4. DRAFTING RULES

4.0. Side Selection

• Teams may select Radiant or Dire side based on the coin toss results (see 4.2).

4.1. Draft Process

• All matches use Standard Captain’s Mode drafting.
• Each team follows the in-game pick/ban sequence as prompted.

4.2. Selection Priority

Best-of-One (Bo1) Matches

• Determined by the automatic in-game coin toss.
• The coin toss winner chooses either:
  1. Their preferred side (Radiant or Dire), or
  2. First Pick or Second Pick.
• The remaining option is granted to the opposing team.

Best-of-Three (Bo3) Format – Selection Priority

• Game 1

  1. Automatic Coin Toss occurs in-game.
  2. The coin toss winner chooses either side (Radiant or Dire) or whether they will pick first or second.
  3. The other option goes to the opponent.

• Game 2

  1. The coin toss loser from Game 1 chooses either:
     • Side (Radiant or Dire), or
     • First Pick or Second Pick.
  2. (No new coin toss occurs before Game 2 in this format.)

• Game 3

  1. A new coin toss is performed if the series is tied 1–1.
  2. The winner of this coin toss chooses either side or first/second pick.
  3. The other team gets the remaining option.

4.3. Coach Restrictions

• No external coaching is allowed during the drafting phase.

5. COMMUNICATION

• 5.1. All players must use the iPlay.lk Discord server for official communication during matches.

6. CONDUCT AND FAIR PLAY

6.1. Cheating & Exploits

• Any form of cheating, map-hacking, or bug exploitation is strictly prohibited.
• Players found guilty of cheating will be permanently banned from iPlay.lk tournaments.

6.2. Lobby Chat Usage

1. Captain-Only Communication

   • All-chat or lobby chat is primarily for team captains to communicate match-related details (e.g., confirming readiness, discussing technical issues, or clarifying rules with the referee).
   • Non-captain players should minimize chat usage, except for brief, polite interactions.

2. Violations & Penalties

   • If a player violates the chat restriction (e.g., trash talk, spamming, or abusive language), the match referee or tournament officials will assess the severity and frequency of the offense.
   • Possible Penalties include:
     • Formal Warning
     • Draft Penalties (Reserve Time Deductions)
       • Level 1: 30 seconds removed
       • Level 2: 70 seconds removed
       • Level 3: 110 seconds removed
     • Match Forfeit
     • Tournament Disqualification

3. Offensive or Abusive Language

   • Any racist, hateful, or highly offensive remarks can lead to immediate and severe penalties, up to and including disqualification.
   • The referee or officials have full discretion to escalate penalties for serious or repeated misconduct.

4. Referee & Official Authority

   • The referee’s decision is final.
   • Officials reserve the right to bypass intermediate penalties for egregious violations.

7. TECHNICAL ISSUES

1. If a player disconnects, the match continues unless a pause is used.
2. If the server crashes or a game-breaking bug occurs, the match is restarted from the latest available game state.

8. FINAL NOTES

• All players and teams are expected to uphold the integrity of the tournament.
• Actions that disrupt fair play may result in penalties, including disqualification, at the discretion of iPlay.lk administrators.
• By participating, you agree to abide by these rules and any additional instructions from the event organizers.
